The ninth annual Nonverbal Behavior preconference will continue in the tradition of bringing together diverse scholars to actively discuss critical issues of inquiry related to how internal states and traits manifest in communication and action (intentionally and unintentionally). In addition to hosting keynote speakers, junior scholars will have the opportunity to present their work in a data blitz and poster session with the option to compete for the Robert (Bob) Rosenthal Poster Award. The Nonverbal Behavior preconference prides itself on being a warm and friendly environment for meaningful intellectual discourse. We see the preconference not just as an event but as a community. Our nine-year history of encouraging constructive and cooperative dialogue seeks to create an opportunity for interested researchers from a variety of backgrounds within and outside the traditional bounds of social and personality psychology to learn from each other in a productive and nonthreatening way and to build relationships that will move forward our collective understanding of this important and easily overlooked feature of everyday behavior. We hope you will choose to join us in New Orleans!
