AV Specs

  • Session Rooms will NOT have laptops. Please work with the presenters in your session to secure a laptop for use during your session.
  • Each session room will have a projector, a screen, and a standard HDMI cable to connect a laptop to the projector, as well as an audio connection for sound. A limited number of VGA to HDMI adapters will be available.

Preparing Your Presentation

  • Use the supplied Power Point Template for consistency.
  • Format your slides to 4:3 – this format will present best through our projectors.
  • Do not use copyrighted materials or any other material you are not comfortable sharing publicly.
  • If possible, symposium speakers should combine their slides into one presentation on one computer to speed up transitions between speakers and get the most talk time out of your session,
  • The Chair must leave 10 minutes at the end of each session for Q&A. Attendees consistently report not having enough time to ask questions of presenters following their talks. Be sure to repeat questions asked before answering so all can hear, and audio recording (if applicable) can capture it.

Delivering Your Presentation

  • Our AV team will be available onsite to help troubleshoot any AV issues or needs.
  • Remember to be yourself, and make regular eye contact with your audience. Compelling research is strengthened by compelling people giving great presentations!
